One of the most beautiful monasteries you have ever visited is located near the picturesque little village of Adami. The Monastery was built in the early 17th century and it was inhabited by monks till its destruction in 1834. It’s named after the Monks who came from Kalamata in Messini. They were called “Kalamii”. The most known name for the Monastery is the “Panagia in Kalami”. From 1972 to today the monastery is open again but this time is inhabited by nuns. A new dormitory was built in the place of the ruins of the old one. The small temple of “Kimiseos of Theotokou” is well reserved and dates back to the early 17 century. It is a unique place where you can experience the tranquility and calmness in a holy environment. The view from the monastery’s balconies is unique. You’ll feel like hanging from the sky.
